@TheWitchOvAgnesi Believe me, it's more like and xbox 360. I've already blown my Xbox 360 PSU once by plugging in the 240V, it sound's exaclty the same...

Sounds like they are in Europe (240V). Higher voltage for a VCR designed for 120V.
